AIM:
To enhance ability to communicate effectively within a range of contexts
OBJECTIVES:
After the training, attendees should:
- Feel able to make decisions and communicate them assertively
- Feel more confident when making and refusing requests
- Have increased awareness of body language
MAIN COURSE CONTENT:
- Understanding stress and assertiveness
- Analysing our specific reactions in pressure situations
- Saying “no” – tips for assertive delivery
- Delivering your message effectively
- Using body language to reinforce your message

AIM:
To provide participants with the tools to help them to deal with everyday situations more assertively and confidently
OBJECTIVES:
After the training, attendees should:
- Communicate their thoughts, feelings and opinions more assertively
- Make and refuse requests more confidently and assertively
- Recognise different types of behaviour, including their own, and manage situations accordingly
- Have a greater awareness of body language in other people and themselves, and the messages they convey to others through their body language
- Recognise that they may be able to reduce their stress levels by behaving more assertively
MAIN COURSE CONTENT:
- Understanding your rights
- Setting your boundaries – making and refusing requests
- Using body language to reinforce your message
- Behaviour types and the differences between aggressive, passive and assertive behaviour, including an opportunity to look honestly at how you’ve behaved in certain situations recently.
