Trainer Skills & Assessor Training

Introduction to Trainer Skills (City and Guilds 7300) |

Ideal for anyone who occasionally trains others at work, this is an intensive course, normally delivered over two days, although different delivery models are possible.
The course is based on the training cycle covering:
- Planning Delivery (participants will deliver a 10-15 minute session)
- Evaluation (self, peer group and course evaluation)
- Setting ground rules and use of icebreakers
- The learning environment and training resources
- Gaining and maintaining attention
- Motivation and assessment
Successful candidates will receive a nationally-recognised certificate, and may progress on to the PTLLS (Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector) award.
Course dates are flexible, depending on your requirements. |

| Course Title |
PTLLS (Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector) for Assessors |

During the course candidates will develop understanding of the training cycle and achieve an initial teaching award (PTLLS).
The course is delivered over 7 full days, one day per week, and is contextualised to be relevant to the training demands encountered by Assessors delivering training and assessment in the workplace.
Candidates will need to do some work outside the training room, including preparation of a microteaching session and approximately seven short assignments.
The course covers the following topics:
- Roles and responsibility
- Teaching strategies
- Session and course planning
- Assessing learning
- Practical teaching skills
Course can be delivered at Level 3 or 4. |
