by members of the Learner Support Fund Panel.
Priority will be given to those who have not received support from the fund in the past.
Learners should show they are making progress in the subject, and will not normally be funded for the same course in consecutive years.
Decisions are dependent on the funds being available, and not all applications will be successful.
Applications will be considered regularly and the decision of the Panel advised in writing.
If your application is refused, it will not normally be re-considered unless you can show that your circumstances have changed.
Your application form should be forwarded to Sutton Centre along with your enrolment as soon as possible. This will normally be dealt with within two weeks of receipt and you will be advised in writing of the decision
Applicants in receipt of welfare benefits will be required to show proof of current benefit payments. Where possible payments will be made to suppliers. Any direct payment you receive from the Learner Support (Access) fund may affect the amount of benefit you receive and it is your duty to disclose the amount to the Benefits Agency (BA).
Applicants must provide evidence of income and possibly living expenses. If you have received financial assistance and leave before the completion of your course, you may be required to repay all or part of the grant.
College Hardship Fund
The College also has a special fund which we have set up to help students who are not eligible for Learner Support Funds but can show that they are on a low income and cannot afford the fee. To apply, please complete the Learner Support Fund Form and your application will be considered for Hardship Funds by the same panel.
Send this form with a covering letter stating that you wish your application to be considered for Hardship Funds.
